About Dr. Cahill
After completing his Undergrad education at Rutgers University in 1987, Dr. Cahill received his dentistry degree at UMDNJ, the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, in 1991. Dr. Cahill's residency was spent at Castle Point VA Hospital in NY.
Dr. Cahill opened his practice in the quaint downtown area of Denville, NJ in 1996. This year marks his 25th Anniversary caring for his patients in the Denville and surrounding areas!
As you may be able to tell from the serene "beach vibe" aesthetic of his office, Dr. Cahill, his wife and two children are all beach lovers! That is where you are most likely to find Dr. Cahill in his spare time! That is, when he's not enjoying travelling or a game of golf!
OUR SERVICES
Routine Exams & Cleanings
Your routine appointment will include a professional teeth cleaning, a dental exam, X-rays, and a consultation with Dr. Cahill. Our dental hygiene will first remove all of the plaque and tartar from your teeth using a metal tool.
Teeth Whitening
Teeth naturally darken with age, however, staining may be caused by various foods and beverages such as coffee, tea and berries, smoking, or a trauma to a tooth. Dr. Cahill offers custom teeth bleaching kits so you can brighten your smile in the comfort of your own home.
Dental Fillings
To treat a cavity your dentist will remove the decayed portion of the tooth and then "fill" the area on the tooth where the decayed material was removed. Fillings are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from misuse (such as from nail-biting or tooth grinding).
Crowns & Bridge Work
Crowns and bridges are a fixed solution to missing or damaged teeth. This restorative procedure uses prosthetic devices to return your smile to its natural state. A crown is used when the tooth structure is damaged or fractured. A bridge is used when one or more teeth are missing.
Root Canal & Therapy
Root canal treatment involves one to three visits. During treatment, the affected tissue is removed. Next, the interior of the tooth will be cleaned and sealed. Finally, the tooth is filled with a dental composite. If your tooth had extensive decay, your doctor may suggest placing a crown to strengthen and protect the tooth from breakage. As long as you continue to care for your teeth and gums with regular brushing, flossing, and checkups, your restored tooth can last a lifetime.
Emergency Dentistry
In general, any dental problem that needs immediate treatment to stop bleeding, alleviate severe pain, or save a tooth is considered an emergency. This consideration also applies to severe infections that can be life-threatening. If you have any of these symptoms, you may be experiencing a dental emergency.

His office is clean and welcoming. I highly recommend him (and I am the daughter of the best dentist in the world). Plus, his staff is terrific.
